Run for The Wall makes 10th annual stop in Concordia
On Monday, May 21, the rumbling sound of motorcycle engines could be heard along Main Street in Concordia. The sound was coming from the engines of hundreds of motorcycles as Run For The Wall visited Concordia Park for a lunch break.
Since 2008, the central route of Run for The Wall has stopped for lunch in Concordia. The stop is coordinated by the Concordia Run For The Wall Committee, and includes members from area communities and organizations. Coordinator Lori Wilson welcomed the riders to Concordia Park and recognized all of the local sponsors, as well as the city of Concordia and the Concordia Parks and Recreation department. Law enforcement personnel counties across Missouri were recognized for their support, as well as escorting the riders through the state. Over 600 riders and support staff were in Concordia for the event, as well as nearly 40 law enforcement personnel.
Mel Bockelman Sr., Chief Master Sgt., United States Air Force, Retired, formerly of Concordia, was in attendance and greeted every rider.
