Concordia Bowl keeps undefeated streak alive
Thus far in the young season, Concordia Bowl has had a solid amount of success in the LaCoMo East minors league. After six successful games, they’ll look to improve to 8-0 this week.
Concordia started their season off in victorious fashion on May 1, when they defeated Sweet Springs 11-0. Izabel Koonce threw a no-hitter, recording 11 of her 12 outs via strikeout. Chloe Fahrmeier and Jenesis Diamond each went 2-2 from the plate.
May 4 was the second gamedate, and Carrollton Sonic faced the same fate as Sweet Springs, falling 10-0. Jenesis Diamond stroked a double, while Izabel Koonce collected two RBI. From the mound, Koonce struck out all nine batters who recorded outs, while allowing one hit and walking four.
May 7 was a solid outing for Concordia, knocking off Lexington 13-0. Izabel Koonce was an allowed walk away from throwing a perfect game over her four innings, recording all 12 outs via strikeout.
May 10 saw a blowout work in Concordia’s favor, as they defeated Lion Club 15-0. Concordia’s only hit came from Izabel Koonce, who homered. Concordia and CFM Sluggers matched up on May 15, and Concordia took full advantage, winning 14-4. Chloe Fahrmeier lead the charge on offense with a home run, and Izabel Koonce struck out 10 and allowed one hit over four innings despite allowing seven walks and four runs.
On May 17, Concordia kept their undefeated streak going, knocking off Higgs — Lion Club 11-1. Chloe Fahrmeier went 3-3 while Izabel Koonce tossed a no-no, walking just two while striking out 11.
