CFM Sluggers have big week, earn two wins
The LaCoMo CFM Sluggers have been tearing up the LaCoMo East Majors division. This week was no exception, as the Sluggers outscored opponents 52-5 en-route to two lopsided victories. They advanced to 5-1 on the season.
On Monday, May 14, the Sluggers knocked off the Concordia Civic Club, 23-5. The Sluggers tallied 11 hits, which included a triple from Kiya Inman (2-5, triple, two RBI, 3 runs). Addison Roepe threw 3 2/3 innings of no-hit softball, striking out 10 while allowing 5 unearned runs on five walks. Olivia Hemme finished out the no-hit bid. Civic Club made 13 errors in the loss.
On Thursday, May 17, the Sluggers took out Marshall, 29-0. Kiya Inman led the way, collecting four singles in five at bats. Neveah Rozell went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while Brooke Bonarís only hit was a triple.
Addison Roepe and Olivia Hemme switched roles in this matchup, with Hemme getting the start and throwing two innings of two-base-runner (one hit allowed, one walk) ball, while Roepe shutting the door with a shutdown inning.
