Concordia High School sports updates

On Wednesday, June 6, former Concordia High School student-athlete Cameron Cooper was named the MVP of the West Central Missouri Lions Game, held at the University of Central Missouriís Tompkins Field at Crane Stadium.
Cooperís team included players from Concordia, Sweet Springs High School, Lone Jack High School, Higginsville High School, Santa Fe High School, Lexington High School, Warrensburg High School, Sherwood High School, Crest Ridge High School, and Knob Noster High School. They competed against players from Lincoln High School, Clinton High School, Pleasant Hill High School, Holden High School, Archie High School, Adrian High School, Windsor High School, and Drexel High School.
Cooper went 3-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs while playing second base.
Additionally, Sweet Springs graduate Zack Giffen went 1-2 with an RBI, run scored, and hit by pitch. He played outfield and first base in addition to recording the final out of the game, recording the save.
Cooper also played in the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) Missouri Senior Class 1 and 2 All-Star Game on Saturday, June 9. Cooper played for the team that won the game (North), which was played in Ozark.
The MHSBCA Academic All-State team was also announced, with Cooper being joined by sophomores Peyton Moore and Brayden McGinnis on the team.
