CHS star athlete Gatewood selected to participate in SunBelt Games

Concordia High School incoming senior Matt Gatewood was selected to pitch for the state of Missouri in the SunBelt games this past weekend. He was one of 18 juniors from Class 2 - Class 5 to represent Team Missouri and play against the best players from other states. He is the first Concordia baseball player ever selected to play in the Junior games. Missouri placed fifth out of 10 teams. Arizona went undefeated to win it all.
Participating teams were Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma Gold, Oklahoma Blue, Mississippi, Canada and Missouri. The games were played at Mike Deake Stadium in McAlester, Okla., and at Eastern Oklahoma State in Wilburton, Okla.
