Robert A. (Bob) Kindle, 78, of Odessa, formerly of Concordia, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Bethel Cemetery in Concordia. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Concordia High School Class of 1957. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Church of Christ or American Cancer Society. Born Nov. 30, 1939, in Knob Noster, Bob was the son of the late William A. Kindle and Dorothy Irene Reno Kindle. He was a 1957 graduate of Concordia High School and had lived in Odessa since 1976, moving from Concordia. On May 21, 1961, he married Wanda Lee Sartin, who survives of the home. He retired in August of 1989 as area supervisor for the Missouri State Highway Department. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, Wanda, Bob is survived by two daughters, Teresa Thompson (Dennis) of Odessa and Roberta Swearngin of Oak Grove; four grandchildren, Jake Thompson, Corey Swearngin, Laura Swearngin and Kelsey Swearngin; one sister, Virginia Droege (Fred) of Concordia; one brother, Phil Kindle (Dot) of Blue Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tim Swearngin; one granddaughter, Samantha Thompson; and one brother, Doyle Kindle.
