Carrollton 28
Saint Paul Lutheran 0
In some Week 4 nonconference action, the Saint Paul Lutheran High School Saints couldn’t get it going against the Carrollton High School Trojans, falling 28-0.
The Trojans scored all four of their touchdowns on runs, three of which were from over 20 yards out (25, 24, and 21 yards).
The Saints got production on the ground from junior Sam Long, who picked up 33 yards on 17 carries. Micah Lemmons went four of 14 for just 12 yards, throwing the ball in a matchup that found the senior signal caller unable to convert on a pass play of more than six yards. Three of his four completions went to Aidin Muehler, who finished with 11 yards.
Long was everywhere defensively, finishing with 18 total tackles (14 solo). Sophomore Kaden Olson contributed seven tackles (six solo) and an interception, the sole takeaway for the Saints.
Saint Paul falls to 0-3 (0-1) with the loss. Next week would be a great time to get a first win, as they will travel to the friendly confines of Concordia High School for the Battle of Concordia.
Carrollton advances to 1-2 with the victory. They will hope to beat up on Salisbury High School when they host the Panthers.
