Veterans visit DC with Honor Flight

Wednesday, October 3, 2018
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, veterans Jerry Steinkuhler (standing) and Larry Hardison participated in Central Missouri Honor Flight, which transports veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the war memorials dedicated to their honor. “The most touching parts were people there stopping to shake our hands and thanking us for our service along with the reception upon our arrival back home,” Steinkuhler said. Hardison stated he had a wonderful time and wouldn’t have missed it for the world. “It's something every veteran should do,” Hardison said. “For the Vietnam veterans, it’s the ‘welcome home’ that we didn't receive back then.” Here, they are pictured at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arglington National Cemetery.
