LGSH Auxiliary selects projects
The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home and Lutheran Nursing Home Auxiliary met Oct. 25 with Lois Marten, president, presiding.
Twenty members were in attendance.
Sue Bryson, head of housekeeping and laundry for the Good Shepherd Home, presented the program.
Six employees work in the laundry, using three commercial machines plus other equipment.
The laundry operates every day; some days over 1,000 pounds of clothing and bedding are washed.
Seven housekeepers work on the nursing home side and five on the assisted living side, keeping the building clean and shiny.
The vertical blinds for the nursing home dining room, funded by the auxiliary, have been installed.
The group voted to purchase two electronic keyboards for the AFL area, with funds donated to the organization by CFM Insurance earlier this year.
A new, major project will be the purchase of a towel/blanket warmer for the east nursing home bathhouse. The proceeds from the annual silent auction will go toward this project.
The auxiliary will serve the lunch for the Alleen Fuchs estate sale on Oct. 20, and their next meeting date is Nov. 27, when they will hold their silent auction.
Bidding at the auction will begin at 6 p.m., and the community is invited to participate.
