Charlotte D. Zumalt
Charlotte D. Zumalt, 91, of Waverly, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at her home.
A cremation graveside service was held Thursday, Oct. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Waverly Cemetery, in Waverly, with Chaplain John Swisher officiating.

Charlotte was born Oct. 12, 1927, to Walter and Louise (Reynolds) Hollis, in Waverly.
Charlotte graduated from Waverly High School in 1945. Following high school, she attended a business college. On Nov. 17, 1946, Charlotte married the love of her life, Charles William Zumalt, in Waverly. To this union, they were blessed with four children; Gary, Albert, Paula and Karen.
Along with being a homemaker, Charlotte chose banking as a career, spending many years as a bank teller at First National Bank in Carrollton, as well as 25 years at Bank of Waverly. She was very active in her community, driving a school bus for Santa Fe School in Waverly, and working as a newspaper correspondent for Carrollton Democrat, Waverly Times and Higginsville Advance newspapers. Charlotte was also a dedicated Avon representative for 54 years.
In her spare time, Charlotte loved being outside doing yard work and flower gardening. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing the organ and piano, as well as teaching piano. Charlotte was a past Worthy Matron and past District Deputy of Order Of Eastern Star No. 248. She was the organist at the Dover Christian Church and a member and organist of the Waverly United Methodist Church. Charlotte enjoyed being a church organist since the age of 14.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Gary Zumalt and wife Vickie of Waverly, Albert Zumalt and wife Tammy of Waverly, Paula Pisel and husband William of Belleville, Ill., and Karen Zumalt of Waverly; two grandchildren, Chase Zumalt of Carrollton, and Mikiah Zumalt of Waverly; and three nieces.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, on June 21, 2003; and two sisters, Elizabeth Weedin and Irene Shelton.
