CHS will present Veteranís Day observance
Concordia High School will present a Veteranís Day observation on Friday, Nov. 9. The featured speaker will be Sam Ratcliff, a graduate of Wentworth Military Academy High School and College, is a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Army. Ratliff was a Second Lieutenant, serving 26 months in Vietnam, with Special Forces ďAĒ teams. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, among other recognition.
The celebration will also include a performance by the CHS band, including the National Anthem, the ďArmed Forces Medley,Ē and the playing of taps. A slideshow of studentsí family members who served in the military will play before the assembly begins.
The assembly will start at 1 p.m. in the high school gym and will run approximately one hour.
