Girls, Boys State reps report to Lions Club on conference

Two students presented information to the Concordia Lions Club on Monday, Oct. 8, after an educational event this past summer.

Kerstin Martens and Christoph Marsh gave reports on Girls State and Boys State, respectively, which was held in June at the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg.

Martens is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Martens, of Concordia. Marsh is the son of Jerrode Marsh, PhD., of Concorida. The Lions Club was one of the participating local sponsors.

Girls State and Boys State are programs honoring selected students for leadership, achievements in scholarship, contributions of public service and organizational activities, and good moral values using the democratic system. The conference allows attendees to learn the fundamentals of government.
