Anna (Ann) Sleeper
Anna (Ann) Sleeper, 80, of Blackburn, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at her home.
At Ann’s request no services will be held. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born April 29, 1938, in Amsterdam, Holland, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius J. Schouten and Trijntje ter Stege Schouten. On Feb. 14, 1958, she married James D. Sleeper, who survives of the home. She lived in Blackburn since 1974 and was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. She worked at Gottenstroeter’s Grocery Store in Blackburn until they closed. She enjoyed spending time with her family, loved to read and play games on her iPad.
In addition to her husband, James, Ann is survived by three children; Mary Ann Schuster (Joe) of Blackburn, Randy Sleeper (Dana) of Blackburn and Jimmy Sleeper (Kris) of Concordia; seven grandchildren: Joshua Schuster (Amy), Justin Schuster (Kyla), Anneke Madison (Jeff), Anna Sleeper, Collin Sleeper, Truman Sleeper and Noah Sleeper; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Maria (Rietje) Schouten-McMullin of Blackburn; and several nieces and nephews.
