Gatewood leads CHS to victory

Wednesday, December 19, 2018
Despite the busy night he had putting the ball in the bucket (30 points), senior Matthew Gatewood also created plenty of open looks for teammates on Friday, Dec. 14. Here, he does it off the dribble, forcing three Knob Noster Panthers to collapse into help-defense.

Matthew Gatewood dazzled for the Concordia High School Orioles boys basketball team in this one, leading the Os to a 59-42 victory.
Gatewood put in three 3-pointers in his 17-point first quarter, putting in all but three of his squads points in the quarter. He would finish with 30 points on six 3-pointers and a perfect record from the free throw line on four attempts. Senior Tad Deatherage also knocked in a pair of three-balls in the second half, contributing to a nine-point showing.
The Orioles took care of business against the MRVC East opponent, possibly in a prelude to the I-70/MRVC Challenge after the New Year kicks off.
A 4-3 (0-0) record accompanies Concordia into 2019.
For Knob Noster, a 2-6 record followed the Panthers out of the gym following the loss.
