CenturyLink problems causing issues with local services

Due to a technical outage, the Concordia Police Department is experiencing difficulties with its non-emergency lines. It says 9-1-1 services are not affected.
For non-emergency assistance, Concordia residents are being asked contact the Higginsville Police Department at (660) 584-2104, and the call will be rerouted to Concordia.
A problem that began just after noon on Thursday, Dec. 27, has not been fixed yet, and it has affected at least one area city police departmentís phone service.
According to a post about 6 a.m. central time on its Twitter feed, CenturyLink has discovered some additional technical problems as its service restoration efforts continue. CenturyLink says it continues to make good progress.
According to CBS News, the outage of service has affected customers in several states, including Missouri.
