Born Dec. 16, 1949, in Johnson County, Mo., he was the son of the late James E. Caldwell and Betty Jean Cash Caldwell. Landy was raised and educated in the Knob Noster area and moved to Concordia in 1967. He had worked with C & S Sinclair, KCP&L, LC’s Auction, and was currently working at Good For You in Concordia.
Landy was an avid hunter and fisherman, and happiest when he was out along Blackwater River. He enjoyed watching westerns on TV, especially John Wayne and Roy Rogers. Landy will also be remembered for his love of food. Apple pie, scalloped oysters, hot dogs, bologna, beans, and anything else that he could make in the crock pot were his favorites.
Landy was baptized as a youth at Mt. Zion Christian Church in Dunksburg. He knew he was a sinner, but fully trusted in his salvation. He did not hide his light under a bushel basket.
Survivors include three sons: Darin Ray Caldwell of Concordia, Jason William Caldwell (Jennie) of Collins, and Landy Edward Caldwell (Jourdan) of Springfield; six grandchildren; one sister, Donna A. Heins (Adolf) of Blackburn; as well as other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny and Paul Caldwell.
