Paul Henry Hentges, 93, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen and the Rev. Msgr. Donald W. Lammers concelebrating. Entombment with military honors was in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of St. Joseph or to SSM Health at Home. Born March 20, 1925, in Jefferson City, the son of the late George Joseph and Sophia Marie (Cortvrient) Hentges, Paul served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage on Nov. 25, 1950, in Jefferson City, to Anna Mae Kauffman who preceded him in death on March 31, 2010. Paul worked in construction and at Westinghouse. He also worked most of his life as a farmer raising dairy and beef cattle. He was born, raised, and passed away on his family farm. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Veteran of Foreign Wars, and the Knights of Columbus. Paul enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Randy (Julie) Hentges of Holts Summit, Larry (Sandra) Hentges of Jefferson City, Allan (Rachael) Hentges of Concordia; and six grandchildren, Britney Hentges, LeighAnna Hentges, Aaron Hentges, Zachary Hentges, Caleb Hentges, and JaeSi Hentges.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two infant sons, Robert Joseph and Paul Henry Hentges Jr.; four sisters, Celeste (Victor) Laux, Agnes (George) Mertens, Angeline (Raphael) Frank, Margaret (Joseph) Vaughan; and one brother, John (Virginia) Hentges.
