Louise Schnakenberg, 70, of Concordia, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Rev. Michael Pottschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial will be in St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia. Pallbearers will be Joe Meyer, Alan Koch, Tim Koch, Bobby Lemmons, Bill Lemmons, Shannon Eckhoff, Allen Phillips, Robert Phillips, Scott Phillips, Kevin Eckhoff and Brian Eckhoff. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Joe Lemmons, Buddy Cox, Jimmy Storck, Rick McGinnis, Ronny Elling and Eugene Eckhoff. Born Oct. 12, 1948, in Sweet Springs, Louise was the daughter of the late Leonard R. Eckhoff and Gertrude (Trudy) Hachenberger Eckhoff. She lived in Saline and Lafayette counties her entire life and was a graduate of Sweet Springs High School. On Aug. 13, 1966, she married Harvey C. Schnakenberg, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2001. She was a member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church. She worked at Alewel's for several years and retired from Milbank in Concordia after 30 years of service.
Survivors include two children, Christina Gates (Bruce) of Concordia, and Mike Schnakenberg of rural Concordia; seven grandchildren, Katelin Schnakenberg, Kylie Schnakenberg, Kaden Schnakenberg, Sasha Chavez, Shanda Norris, Sierra Norris and Shayla Norris; nine great-grandchildren; three siblings, Jeanette Koch and Patty Lemmons, both of Sweet Springs, and Eugene Eckhoff of Higginsville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn Meyer and Linda Harms; and one brother, Dennis Eckhoff.
