Pair of Concordia residents injured in traffic accident on icy road
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol states two Concordia residents sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident on the ice-covered interstate on Wednesday.
The report says the accident occurred as the driver of a westbound 2004 Toyota Tundra, Steve Bishop, 76, of Concordia, reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to ice on the roadway. The vehicle reportedly slid off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
Bishop and a passenger, Carol Bishop, 62, were transported by E.M.S to a medical center in Kansas City for treatment of their injuries.
The accident happened at about 9 a.m. at the 41.2-mile marker on I-70.
