SPLHS’s Show-Me Showdown schedule

With their unbelievable comeback victory over the St. Michael the Archangel High School Guardians in the quarterfinal round of the Class 3 State Tournament, the Saint Paul Lutheran High School Saints will be preparing for a trip to Springfield’s JQH Arena for the Show-Me Showdown (Missouri’s version of the Final Four).

Win or lose, all four remaining teams - Springfield Catholic High School (28-3), Charleston High School (20-10), and Vashon High School (24-5) - will play twice each.

Each team’s first matchup will take place Thursday, March 7, with Charleston and Vashon slated to tip-off at 3:30 p.m.. The Saints will compete with Springfield Central immediately after for a spot in the championship match. Tip-off is expected to begin at 5:10 p.m.

Less than 24-hours later, the victors of the semifinal matchups will meet in the Class 3 State Championship, expected to begin at 2:40 p.m.. An 11 a.m. tip-off for the right to 3rd place will proceed the championship.

The Concordian wishes the best of luck to the Saint Paul Lutheran High School boys basketball team as they attempt to bring a state championship back home to Concordia, and safe travels to all who are making the journey despite facing the possibility of traveling through winter weather conditions.
