Green Ridge man suffers serious injuries in deer related crash

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a Green Ridge man sustained serious injuries in a traffic crash in Lafayette County on Thursday, May 7.

The crash occurred when a 1999 Ford Explorer, driven by James M. Couchman, 51, struck a deer in the road, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, who reportedly was not wearing a safety device, was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Independence for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash occurred on Highway YY east of Missouri 13 at 6:40 p.m. Thursday.
