Piccadilly event set for this weekend
One of the biggest annual social events in Concordia — and what is deemed the biggest event of the year for the Concordia Area Chamber of Commerce — will soon be here.
The chamber and Concordia Main Street have once gain partnered to host the sixth annual Concordia Piccadilly Auction on Friday, March 29. The theme for this year’s event is “Jump’n Jive.”
All 264 tickets for the event sold out at the ticket sales event within the last week. The success of the event is attributed to the dedicated volunteers and donors from around the community. Donations are the basis of the Piccadilly auction, and local businesses give graciously toward this evening. Over 100 items, valued at more than $13,000, were donated and auctioned off during the 2018 Piccadilly event.
The event is the main fundraiser for the Concordia Area Chamber of Commerce and Concordia Main Street, Inc. Both organizations give back to the community throughout the year and host events such as Downtown Trick or Treating, Kid’s Shopping Day, Main Street Christmas, and the Chili/Soup Supper, to name a few. Proceeds from this event are returned to the Concordia community.
