Janet Lorraine Oetting Ferguson, of Columbia, S.C., formerly of Concordia, died April 1, 2019, in Columbia, S.C.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Columbia, S.C. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019, in Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor. Visitation will be April 5, 2019, at the Dunbar Funeral Home in Irmo, S.C. An additional visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor.
Janet Lorraine Oetting Ferguson was born on May 31, 1934, in Concordia. She graduated from Concordia High School in 1952, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Central Missouri State College. She also earned a Master of Music and a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. She worked at the Bryan Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, S.C.
She is survived by her four children, Richard Ferguson and wife Darinda of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kathalyn Neven and husband Werner of Hermerzheim, Germany, Chrysalyn Graves and husband Ken of Simpsonville, S.C., and Randal Ferguson and wife Sabrina, also of Simpsonville; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; two sisters, Marie Oetting Plattner and Betty Oetting Fiesler; and her parents, Jul and Mildred Oetting.
