Saints track teams perform well in I-70 Conference Meet
The Saint Paul Lutheran High School Lady Saints’ track season has been described as “Adrien Martens and friends.” The I-70 Conference Meet was no exception.
Adrien won four medals: Third in the high jump, second in the 800 meter run, and first in both the 1600M and 3200M runs. Adrien’s “friends” had important roles in the team effort with fourth-place finishes: Anna Royuk in the 100M high hurdles, and Deborah Hornanova in the 3200M run.
On the boy’s side, the team was led, as usual, by Trey Beerman and Earnests Racko. Earnests earned third-place finishes in both the high jump and 110 meter high hurdles, while Trey took second place in the 200 meter dash and 1st in the 100 meter dash.
Other Saints earning medals were Samuel Grega (third in the 3200 meter run), Ian Isdel (second in the 1600 meter run) and Nate Slimmer (second in the triple jump).
Like other schools in Class 1 and Class 2, SPLHS will compete this Saturday at the district level, traveling to Higginsville for the Class 2 District 6 meet.
