Hot start for LaCoMo East CFM Hot Shots Minors
Through six games, the LaCoMo East CFM Hot Shots Minors softball team seems to have hit their stride, going 4-1-1 to start the 2019 campaign.
Aubrey Roepe has led the charge from the batters box, going 9-10 with a double, nine RBIs, and 10 runs. She also has walked six times and yet to strike out.
Elizabeth Shahan has gone 6-8 with 12 runs and four RBIs, while Ryleigh Landes and Anistyn Inman have ten and eight walks, respectively. Kierstin Nelson has drawn 11 walks, while Abi Hartwig has walked ten times.
Friday, April 26 — 6 p.m. — League game

Five runs in each of their three offensive innings was enough for the Hot Shots to get by Marshall Team Houk, 15-4.
Elizabeth Shahan and Aubrey Roepe each collected hits for the Hot Shots.
The team drew a combined 15 walks, while eight ladies collected RBIs.
Abi Hartwig went 2.1 innings from the pitcher’s circle, while Aubrey Roepe took care of the remaining 1.2 innings. Hartwig didn’t allow a single hit, while Roepe allowed just one. Roepe also walked just one.
Hartwig and Roepe struck out four hitters each.
The Hot Shots started off with a 1-0 record.
Monday, May 6 — 6 p.m. — League game
Concordia Lions 17
Hot Shots 18
It came down to the last at-bat, but the Hot Shots eventually pulled off a come-from-behing victory over the Concordia Lions Club, 18-17.
With the game tied at 13-13 heading into the fourth and final inning, the Lions Club picked up four runs in the top half of the inning. Down to their last at-bats, the Hot Shots pulled the victory out with five runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Aubrey Roepe collected two hits in the contest — of which one was a double — while Taylor Gard picked up one hit herself, also a double.
Elizabeth Shahan crossed the plate three times.
The Hot Shots moved to 2-0 with the victory.
Friday, May 10 — 6 p.m. — League Game
Lex Rock 6
Hot Shots 20
It was a lopsided victory for the Hot Shots as they defeated Lex Rock Solid Industries 20-6 behind four straight five-run innings.
Aubrey Roepe collected three hits on the day, while Elizabeth Shahan collected two of her own. Roepe and Shahan were joined by Abi Hartwig and Kierstin Nelson as hitters who scored three runs.
Roepe allowed just two hits while striking out 11.
The Hot Shots’ win advanced them to 3-0.
Tuesday, May 14 — 6 p.m. — League game
Hot Shots 17
H’Ville Grey 9
Three of four innings ended with five runs scored for the Hot Shots, who would draw 24 walks en route to a 17-9 victory over Higginsville Team Grey.
Anistyn Inman, Elizabeth Shahan, and Aubrey Roepe each singled in the contest.
Roepe struck out five over two innings of work, allowing one hit and two earned runs.
The Hot Shots moved to 4-0 with the victory.
Friday, May 17 — 6 p.m. — League game

Santa Fe Plattner 10
A hot start for the Hot Shots got them ahead 10-2 after two innings, but Santa Fe Plattner Brothers chipped away, eventually tying the score in the fifth and final inning to leave the game tied at 10-10. Ryleigh Landes, Aubrey Roepe, and Taylor Gard each collected a hit, while GArd led the team with two runs.
Elizabeth Shahan struck out five over three innings, while Abi Hartwig struck out two of the three hitters she faced.
The tie moved the Hot Shots out of the win column for the first time, moving to 4-0-1.

Despite a good effort, the Hot Shots came up just short against SF CMAS and YT Boland, losing 12-11.
Elizabeth Shahan stroked two hits, while Aubrey Roepe collected her team’s other hit. Roepe and Kierstin Nelson led the team with two runs each.
Elizabeth Shahan struck out six hitters over 2.1 innings.
The Hot Shots fell to 4-1-1 with their first loss.
