Local athletes to play in All-Star basketball games Saturday

Seven Concordia-based student-athletes will be playing in the District 26-M5 Lions All-Star Basketball Games on Saturday, June 8.

Now-graduated Saint Paul Lutheran High School Saints Karson Troth and Chloe Fuhrman will represent SPLHS in the girls game, and now-graduated Concordia High School Oriole Jacey Smith will compete for CHS.

In the boys game, now-graduated Orioles Cameron Kelly and Matthew Gatewood were selected from Concordia, while former Saints Elijah Muehler and Micah Lemmons will make one final appearance.

Lafayette County C-1 High School will be the host to the doubleheader, with the girls game starting at 6 p.m. and the boys game starting afterwards. Admission will cost $5, with proceeds from the event to be donated to Lions Club International Foundation, KidSight, District Lions ALERT, and other Lions Clubs Charities.

Teams will be split up based on where the students are from (North and South). Players will be representing Adrian, Appleton City, Archie, Crest Ridge, Concordia, Saint Paul Lutheran, Cass-Midway, Hardin-Central, Lafayette County C-1, Lexington, Leeton, LaMonte, Kingsville, Kansas City Lutheran, Richmond, Orrick, Santa Fe, Wellington-Napoleon, and Northwest (Hughesville) High Schools.
