CFM Hot Shots Minors fall in week’s only game

The CFM Hot Shots Minors softball team only got to hit the field one time this past, falling in an afternoon game on Sunday, June 2 to Marshall Viking Realty, 15-8.
The Hot Shots fell to 4-2-1 with the loss, but still maintain a +26 run differential (99-73).

The Hot Shots couldn’t get their bats going until late in the contest against Marshall Viking Realty, scoring three runs through three innings en route to the 15-8 loss.
Hot Shots hitters got into scoring position throughout the first three innings of the game, but were unable to cross at a high rate, with just one run scoring in the first inning and a pair of runs in the second inning. They would pick up five runs in the fourth inning, but the damage would already be done as Marshall would pick up five runs in each inning of the contest.
Cameron Cox collected the only Hot Shot hit via single, but 15 batters would reach base via walk and two reached base after getting hit by a pitch.
Peyton Meyer and Kierstin Nelson each scored two runs, while four Hot Shots (Cox, Adee Diamond, Caitlin Woods, Taylor Gard) each scored once.
The loss drops the Hot Shots to 4-2-1 on the season.
