Robert L. (Bob) Oehlschlaeger
Robert L. (Bob) Oehlschlaeger, 78, of Grain Valley, Missouri, formerly of Concordia, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with William W. Harlow and Rev. John Otte officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Union Cemetery near Marshall. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House, Alzheimer’s Association or H8 Cancer Foundation. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Feb. 28, 1941, in Blackburn, he was the son of the late Leonard Oehlschlaeger and Luella Oerding Oehlschlaeger. He was a 1959 graduate of Concordia High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam and Korea and was a member of V.F.W. On Dec. 10, 1966, he married Margaret Howery, who survives of the home. He had lived in Grain Valley since 2005, moving from Lee’s Summit, and was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs. He was a retired transport driver working for Texaco, Farmland Industries and Star Transport. He was a Royals fan, loved fishing, NBA Basketball, Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics, but loved his family more than anything else.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, Bob is survived by two children, Julie McDermott (Sean) of Columbia, and Jeff Oehlschlaeger (Jenny) of Blue Springs; two grandchildren, Kelsey Clark and Carter Oehlschlaeger; one brother, Leo Oehlschlaeger (Marilyn) of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Corson.
