Hot Shots split week’s games
The CFM Hot Shots Minors softball team fell flat on Tuesday against Sweet Springs Koppel, but not before holding off Santa Fe CMAS & YTBoland for a win Monday night.
After the win and loss last week, the Hot Shots moved to 6-3-1 on the season.
Monday, June 10 — League game — 8 p.m.

Santa Fe 10
After a back-and-forth pair of innings to start the game, the Hot Shots were able to settle in and handle Santa Fe offensively and defensively in the final two innings, pulling off the 14-10 victory.
The game entered the third inning tied at 10-10, but the Hot Shots were able to put up two runs in the third and fourth innings each while keeping Santa Fe off of the scoreboard.
Elizabeth Shahan and Taylor Gard each recorded two hits while the team combined for 24 free passes (18 walks, six HBP).
The Hot Shots advanced to 6-2-1 with the victory.

Sweet Springs 10
Despite the game being a dogfight for the first two innings, the Hot Shots couldn’t stave off Sweet Springs, falling 10-0.
Hot Shots hitters were baffled throughout, striking out eight times and reaching base twice — Abi Hartwig drew a walk to leadoff the game, while Taylor Gard singled on the next at-bat.
The Hot Shots fell to 6-3-1 with the loss.
