James Paul “Jay” Parks

James Paul “Jay” Parks, 59, of Emma, Missouri, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2019, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs with Rev. Tim Biesemeyer officiating. Inurnment will follow at Malta Bend Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born April 8, 1960, in Kansas City, he was the son of the late Lanny Parks and Barbara Jean Webster Parks, who survives of Sweet Springs. Jay lived in the Sweet Springs and Emma area most of his life, was a 1978 graduate of Sweet Springs High School, and worked for nearly 30 years at Milbank Manufacturing in Concordia. He was involved in the Emma community, where he served as an alderman, board member of Holy Cross Lutheran School, and attended St. John United Church of Christ. Jay was an avid duck hunter and proud member of Ducks Unlimited.

In addition to his mother, Barbara, he is survived by three children: Tyler Parks of Jefferson City, Sara Parks of Liberty, and Zachary Parks of Wichita, Kan.; three siblings: Debbie Kirchhoff of Concordia, Dennis Parks of Halfway, and Jennifer March of Sweet Springs; as well as nieces and nephews.
