A North Carolina man suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Lafayette County on Sunday.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol report states the crash occurred as a westbound 2018 GMC Terrain driven by 28-year-old Ashley Thieman, 28, of Concordia, was overtaking a westbound 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Matt McBrayer, 70, of Rutherfordton, N.C.

The report says that before completing the change from the right lane to the left lane to pass, Thieman’s vehicle reportedly impacted the rear of McBrayer’s vehicle. After impact, McBrayer’s vehicle overturned, began sliding, and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Thieman’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and impacted the cable barrier.

McBrayer was transported by E.M.S. to a hospital in Warrensburg for treatment. Thieman reportedly was not injured.

The crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the 55-mile marker on westbound I-70.
