Larry W. Fiene, 72, of Corder, died July 22, 2019.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Matt Limback. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home, located at 1701 Main in Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to the Corder VFW. He was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Alma, to Earl and Marie (Horstman) Fiene. He married Sharon Gann on July 9, 1967 in Mayview. He graduated from Corder High School in 1965. He entered the U.S. Army in 1966 and proudly served in Vietnam.
Larry worked over 27 years for Local 663 as an industrial construction laborer, building some very high profile structures around the Kansas City area. He also worked as a partner in Eveready Lawn, a family business. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the Corder VFW, and volunteered his construction knowledge to help build the current VFW building.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two sons, Jerry Fiene and Earl Fiene (Miranda), both of Higginsville; two daughters, Lisa Whitt (Steve) and Karen Fiene, both of Higginsville; two sisters, Carol Cowherd of Higginsville, and Evelyn Tipton of Marshall; and eight grandchildren, Maddy, Caleb, Spencer, Megan, Renee, Bella, Natalie and Liam.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alan Fiene; and a stillborn daughter, Sheila Ann.
