Susie Buesing, 84, of Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug.9, 2019, at St. Johnís United Church of Christ in Emma, with Pastor Tim Biesemeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the Susie Buesing Memorial Fund, and checks may be made payable to Wilbert Buesing, and left in care of the funeral home. Susie was born on May 28, 1935 in Russell Springs, Ky., and was the daughter of the late Slyvanus Popplewell and Margaret Skaggs Popplewell. On Aug. 29, 1956, she married Wilbert Buesing, who survives of the home. To this union, seven children were born: John Buesing (Mary) of Pollard, Ala., Marvin Buesing (Shelia) of Ernestville, Mary Pilkington (Rick) of Buffalo, Larry Buesing (Linda) of Warrensburg, Shirley Moore (Bill) of Higginsville, Gary Buesing (Mary) of Higginsville, and Barbara Pelton (James) of Avon, S.D. Of those marriages, they were blessed with 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Susie loved her family and friends, and never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her love of cooking and canning. Susie always had a special place in her heart for all her pretties. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; daughter-in-law, Linda Holt Buesing; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
