Concordia Police Department issues statement on Fall Festival patrols

Tuesday, August 20, 2019

With the Concordia Fall Festival approaching, the Concordia Police Department recently announced it will have all officers patrolling during the event to ensure that the public has a safe environment in which to have fun. Chief Paul Mapes said that he wants everybody to have a great time, but to be responsible and safe.

“Do not drink and drive, and make sure you have a designated driver,” Mapes said. “Uber will be available this year if you need their services. All you have to do is download the Uber app, and they can provide you a safe ride home.”

Chief Mapes also noted this is a major event the police department plans for months in advance.

“Officers work overtime to keep the city safe, and to maintain order,” he said. “Officers will be keeping the city safe by being proactive, and by enforcing local ordinances and state laws.”
