Ruth M. Tebbenkamp
Ruth M. Tebbenkamp, 93, of Concordia, Missouri, formerly of Slater, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paulís Lutheran Church or St. Paulís Grade School in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born Jan. 10, 1926, in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Julius Roepe and Marie Jungklaus Roepe. On Aug. 6, 1944, she married Lloyd E. Tebbenkamp, who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2018. She returned to Concordia in 1994, moving from Slater. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at International Shoe Company in Higginsville and Sweet Springs, Topsyís and Rexall Drug in Concordia, and Big Bend Retreat, Slater Garment Company and BHA, all in Slater. She was a member of St. Paulís Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She loved baking and competing in the Concordia Fall Festival, gardening, garage sales and caring for others.
Survivors include four children, Karen Burrow (Tom) of Concordia, Dean Tebbenkamp (Carolyn) of Slater, Kathy Doss (David) of Kansas City, and Jeff Tebbenkamp (Roben) of Ozark; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by one grandson, Steven Burrow; three brothers, Herbert, Homer and Ralph Roepe; and eight sisters, Lorna Schlickelman, Minerva Tebbenkamp, Mable Dedeke, Gertrude Schlickelman, Evelyn Wodrich, Mildred Lohmann, Alleen Hurd and Claudine Petty.
