Orioles roughed up in Week 2

Wednesday, September 11, 2019

A tough nonconference schedule didnít get any easier for the Concordia High School Orioles football team in Week 2, with the Orioles falling to Lincoln HS 56-26.
A dissatisfying 41-7 loss to Tipton HS in Week 1 didnít boost the Oriolesí confidence heading into a matchup with a Lincoln squad that roughed up North Calloway 40-8 in Week 1, but they held their own better than NCHS did against the Cardinals the week prior.
Senior Brayden McGinnis completed 6/18 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Jake Tagtmeyer converted his only pass attempt into a 50-yard touchdown to senior Hunter Wilckens.
Senior Colby Stein ran three times for 28 yards and turned four receptions into 41 yards. Junior Dante Stockwell caught two passes for 51 yards, including one for 41 yards.
The Orioles (0-2, 0-0) will try to turn their fortunes around in Week 3, when they travel to Sweet Springs HS for their first crack at I-70 Conference competition on the young season.
