Week 7 ó I-70 Conference ó Saint Paul Lutheran HS
Wellington-Napoleon 55
Saint Paul Lutheran 19

A Week 7 I-70 conference matchup for the Saint Paul Lutheran High School Saints football team in front of their Homecoming crowd had all the makings of an upset, but when the dust settled, the Wellington-Napoleon High School Tigers would walk away with an easy 55-19 victory.
Senior Luke Roepe completed 14/23 passing attempts, earning 192 yards and three touchdowns despite tossing a pair of interceptions. The Saints had major trouble getting anything going on the ground, as they would run for a combined nine yards on 22 carries despite one carry of 13 yards by sophomore Logan Muehler.
After spending the majority of the season as the Saintsí quarterback, senior Josiah Kunkel might have found his niche on offense, supplying a big game from the wide-out position. He caught 11 passes for a big 158 yards and all three of the teamís touchdowns.
Junior Kaden Olson had a big day on the defensive side of things, tying with Kunkel for the team lead in tackles (six). He also recovered two fumbles. Sophomore Ethan Kirby also blocked a kick in the matchup.
With their fifth-straight loss to Well-Nap (dating back to 2015), the Saints fall to 0-7 (0-5) on the year. They will play their final regular season road matchup in Week 8 when the Saints travel to Missouri Military Academy for a matchup with the Colonels, who are having trouble winning themselves (1-6 on the season, six straight losses).
Wellington-Napoleon moves to 4-3 (3-2) with the big victory.
