The Sweet Springs High School Greyhounds football team had no trouble with nonconference Lone Jack High School in their Week 8 matchup, dominating the Mules en route to a 62-0 shutout performance.
Sophomore Cole Lovercamp scored twice on a pair of touchdown runs from the back-fourth of the red zone before taking a 54-yard punt back to the house for a third touchdown.
Senior Hunter Sims found senior Jacob Hall for a pair of touchdown passes. He also found sophomore Zapher Lea for a 40-yard touchdown before running two in himself — including one from 70 yards out.
Sweet Springs combined for 29 carries and 340 yards on the ground, with Sims and junior Grant Knipmeyer leading the way with 78 and 72 yards, respectively.
Lea and Hall went for 40 yards through the air while Hall earned 35 yards receiving.
Sweet Springs advances to 5-3 (4-1) with a regular-season ending matchup with Wellington-Napoleon HS in Week 9.
Lone Jack falls to 1-7 (1-6).
