Alberta Alice Bredehoeft
Alberta Alice Bredehoeft, 96, of Odessa, formerly of Alma, died Nov. 2, 2019, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn, officiated by Reverend Tim Miille. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Keith Bredehoeft, Wendell Starkebaum, Richard Reith, Brian Clause, Jerry VanSteenburgh, Mark Waller and Guy Meador. Honorary casket bearers will be Thadeaus Clause, Alan Widener and Matthew Meador. Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Radio Hour or Zion Lutheran Church. Alberta was born July 31, 1923, in Corder, to John and Emma (Mevius) Reith. She married Clarence Bredehoeft on Jan. 14, 1942. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2000. Alberta was a devoted homemaker who loved cooking and reading. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn and a member of the former Ladies Aid Club.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Bredehoeft (Tamara) of Alma and Allen Bredehoeft (Sharon) of Emma; four daughters, Janette Copeland (Bob) of Olathe, Kan., Connie Bredehoeft of Odessa, and Shirlyn Bredehoeft and Teresa Bredehoeft, both of Higginsville; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; and one step great-great grandchild.
In addition to Clarence, she is preceded in death by a son, Douglas; a daughter, Bonnie; brothers, Leonard and Ervin Reith; and a half sister, Hilda Starkebaum.
