Virgil W. Borgman
Virgil W. Borgman, 84, of rural Slater, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Saline City, with Pastor Walt Snyder officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the services at the church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery or the Heartland Recovery in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Nov. 1, 1935, in Saline City, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Aurelia Ritterbusch Borgman.
Mr. Borgman was baptized and confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He farmed for most of his life, and in the mid-1970s, began Borgman Soil & Trenching, which continues today. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He was a devout Christian and family man.
He is survived by a son, Mark Borgman of Nelson; a daughter, Michelle Limback of Waverly; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ralph Borgman of rural Slater, and Norman Borgman of Smithton.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Sarah Borgman and Cheryl Fizer; and a sister, Gladys Gessling.
