Linda Kay Franklin
Linda Kay Franklin, 75, of Corder, died Dec. 15, 2019, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Zion Lutheran Church in Corder, with Pastor Mark Junkin officiating. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. She was born June 3, 1944, to Melvin and Amelia (Holthoff) Rose. She married Raymond Franklin on July 12, 1963, in Alma. They divorced prior to his death in 2014.
Linda grew up in Corder. She lived most of her adult life in Higginsville and ran a babysitting service from her home. She worked at the Habilitation Center and retired after 24 years. She moved back to Corder, to the house in which she had been born.
She was very active in church and community. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Dorcas Society. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Corder Community Club, Young at Heart, and Good Friends and Neighbors of Waverly.
Linda is survived by two daughters, Donna Boland of Lexington and Karen Persinger (Verlon) of Chillicothe; a brother, Thomas Rose (Loretta) of Warsaw; a sister, Lorraine Beattie of Warsaw; six grandchildren, Jennifer Boland (Steve Iles), Jamie Greer (Mike), Kristin Boland (Elijah Lutjen), Danielle Parker (David), Andrew Overstreet (Ken Harris), Dakota Persinger (Rylee Broyles); and six great grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Schowengerdt, Mae Wills, and Wanda Crawford; and a granddaughter, Jessica Boland.
