Jeanette “Nettie” Alice Fuehring
Jeanette “Nettie” Alice Fuehring, 69, of Concordia, Missouri, died Friday, May 31, 2019, at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born May 20, 1950, in Kansas City, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. Meyer and Leona M. Lueck Meyer. She was baptized June 11, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn, and confirmed March 22, 1964. Jeanette was a 1968 graduate of Santa Fe High School in Alma, and then attended cosmetology school in Sedalia. On July 18, 1970, she married Orlin R. Fuehring, who preceded her in death on February 10, 2017. Jeanette lived in Concordia most of her life where she owned and operated The Hair Center. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a former member of Joyful Sounds Choir and volunteered at St. Paul’s Grade School. When not spending time with her grandkids she enjoyed photography, baking, being a field editor for Taste of Home magazine and a Tupperware manager.
Survivors include three children: Elizabeth Sarsam (Sam) of Chandler, Ariz., Eric Fuehring (Jana) of Concordia, and Rikako Gondaira of Sapporo, Japan; two grandchildren, Caleb and Lilly Fuehring; two brothers, Curt Meyer of Concordia, and Larry Meyer of Blue Springs; one sister, Mary Jane VanBuskirk of Raytown; as well as nieces and nephews.
