Lady O’s start off undefeated, winning against Smithton
The Concordia High School Orioles got off on the right foot to start the 2019 campaign, winning a nonconference matchup to Smithton High School in straight sets, 25-12 and 25-21.
Junior Cassidy Warren served four aces, while sophomore Cate Cooper converted three of her own. Junior Carys Brockman was good on the floor, converting five digs while Cooper and sophomore Hali Deatherage dug four each. Sophomore Kaleigh Benson led the way, however, collecting eight across the two games.
The O’s improved to 1-0 (0-0) with the victory.
After Concordia and Santa Fe HS traveled to Green Ridge HS for their annual triangular on Monday (see next week’s edition), they will be off until the Tuesday, Sept. 17 road matchup with Lafayette County HS.
